Friends of Rachel
The Friends of Rachel Club is just one of the many benefits of having Rachel's Challenge in our school. The main goal of this club is to help create a positive atmosphere in our school and community. The club fosters the Five Challenges of Rachel's Challenge. Those challenges are: Dream Big, Look for the Best in Others, Choose Positive Influences, Speak with Kindness and Start Your Own Chain Reaction.

CHAIN REACTION CHALLENGE
The January Chain Reaction Challenge is on!  Go to Locker #354 (by the science rooms) and nominate someone for a good deed, kind words, or kind actions.  Write the nominee's name, and what he/she did on a paper chain located by locker #354, then slip the paper into the locker. Friends of Rachel will announce all nominees and select  a winner for a prize later this month. We will add the links to the paper chain by Mr. Rushefski's office.   Let's start a chain reaction and make an impact, one act of kindness at a time!

FOR Club Activity Update
The Friends of Rachel club has accomplished some great things at Lackawanna Trail! We have written letters of thanks and appreciation to our cafeteria staff, bus drivers and teachers (and we plan to write more)!  We organized a monetary collection and signatures of support for the Sandy Hook Elementary school after their recent tragedy and sent a donation to the Newtown Memorial Fund.  We also collected paper snowflakes for Sandy Hook to help make their new school look like a "Winter Wonderland." In December, we started a "Chain Reaction Challenge" where students and teachers can nominate others for good deeds, kind words and kind actions.  The paper chain is now located outside of Mr. Rushefski's office. We hope this chain of kindness will eventually go all around the school.  Way to go, FOR club! Continue to meet the Five Challenges: Look for the Best in Others, Dream Big, Choose Positive Influences, Speak with Kindness and Start Your Own Chain Reaction!

MEETING
There will be a Friends of Rachel meeting tomorrow, Wednesday January 9th, at 7:15 am in the auditorium. See you there!
